Food, Sex and Salmonella
This book by Dr. Waltner-Toews is probably my all time favorite non-fiction, epi/health related book. Full of super cool stories, I found it difficult to set down. Highly recommend.

This book was probably one of the first medically related books I read. Anyone interested in getting a peak behind the curtains should pick this one up!

Spillover
Full disclosure it took me a few attempts to finally get this book going but once I had gained momentum I couldn’t put it down. Very interesting read and enjoyed the author’s ability to weave the stories of these real life examples of animal disease spread. The topic was super relevant in the days post covid pandemic and avian influenza.

Ok so we all know we could use more quality sleep but Matthew Walker gives a fantastic run down of the insane power and effect of sleep! VERY recommended read, at the very least you’ll have some great trivia for your next dinner party.

Made to Stick
An important aspect of science is how science is utilized. Knowledge translation and transfer refers to the process of taking the science and research and helping to disseminate that information in a form useful for the end user. This book was a great guide to how we can share our stories to create the biggest impact.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
This one is a bit of a departure, branching towards the self help arena but I think it should not be overlooked! We all have a finite amount of energy we can put out there and it’s important we can focus that energy to things and people that deserve it.
